Switchboard
Inspection
Using
an audit style approach the aptGroup offer three types of inspections.
Type
1 Low-voltage Small Light and Power Distribution Board Inspections
audit and report particular requirements for low-voltage switchgear and
controlgear assemblies, installed in places where unqualified /
unauthorised persons have access for their use. Service condition,
construction design and technical characteristics are assessed. For
example, potential safety issues relating to faulty or incomplete
distribution boards that are “at risk”, based on secure locking systems
to limit access by unqualified / unauthorised persons. Also covered are
issues related to the ingress of water, dust, destructive impacts and
debris, as well as human fingers, based on the (IPXX) Degree of Protection
standards.
Type
2 Low- voltage Switchboard
and Motor Control Centre
Inspections audit and report particular requirements for
low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies, installed in a
switchroom or plant area. Service condition, construction regulations and
technical characteristics such as forms of segregation and degrees of
separation are assessed. For example, potential safety issues relating to
faulty or incomplete switchboards and motor control centres, that are “at
risk” based on secure locking systems to limit access by unqualified /
unauthorised persons. Also covered are issues related to the ingress of
water, dust, destructive impacts and debris, as well as human fingers,
based on the (IPXX) Degree of Protection standards.
Type
3 Risk Assessment Inspection audit and report particular safe working procedures for licensed electricians,
carrying out additions and/or alterations to circuits in a distribution
board. For example, replacing or adding circuit breakers, without taking
the distribution board off line, using applied new technology and
complying with various State OH&S Acts, Regulations and Regulatory
Best Practice documents.
The
associated report will identify the issue with a digital photograph and a
written description of our observation as well as a corrective action
statement.
